We jumped in the car at 4:30am on Saturday morning and did the 450km trek to Orange. We were certain we weren't coming home until we had ALL of the supplies needed to renovate our new/old bathroom...
After a lot of hunting around I finally found and bought the vanity I've been dreaming about. It may not have started it's life as a vanity but it was surely destined to be one in our house. We're cutting a whole in the top of a hall stand (purchased from this divine shop) and inserting a wash basin.... Sounds scary I know but I have complete confidence that my DH and our builder (his best mate) will be able to pull the whole thing off, if they don't, LOOK OUT!!! LOL!!!
DH tells me all the time that I'm 'such a sucker' but how could I let these 2 little kitty's go to the big kitty heaven in the sky. Let me introduce you to Lilly and Tabbitha, the newest additions to our family.... I'm sure that if the little princess has anything to do with it they will be feeling very welcome in their new home in no time at all..... Thank goodness we have a 'huge' back yard...
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.... ;)
Cute skirt! And of course cute kittens, what other kind is there?!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'll keep you busy - Could you please tell me where you had your labels made?
I've been looking and looking....
Thanks -
Cute kitties, you are a sucker like my farming sister who has 2 domestic cats and two wild cats that she hand raised from 1 day old.
ReplyDeleteBeen meaning to remind you guys renovating an older house, beware the cement sheeting that might harbour asbestos. We weren't so wise 5 years ago when smashing some old sheeting from our kitchen walls and now will never know what it contained but I so hope it wasn't the deadly microscopic blue stuff. We are both medical people and it never crossed our mind and our builer never said anything. You can never be too careful.
Jodie, My parents did a similar thing for their vanity and it was great !!! Can't wait for a pic.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, the skirt is so beautiful..totally love the fabric.

I love it when people take old furniture to use as bathroom vanities. So much cooler than buying the stock standard vanity (especially if you have an older house). Can't wait to see the photos.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the renovation is going to be GORGEOUS! I can't wait to see the results.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your newest family members. :)
love the skirt. so cute - i just wish emily was small again so i could sew her stuff. i still can, but these days she's not really into 'cute' stuff.
ReplyDeletelove the kittens. wish i could have one but my old cat would have a fit. she only just coped with me bringing two extra babies into the house (julian and louis).

ReplyDeleteWell done on the skirt! I've still got some of that cute fabric on the bottom. And the kitties look like they're being hugged to death. LOL
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute everywhere ya look!
ReplyDeleteMum & Dad did the same thing in their place for vanities & that was well over 20 years ago. They are still going strong & are still very current & classy...Xxx
