Not Every Day....

Now it's not every day that someone just gives you a house now is it???? Well a little while ago a close family friend did just this, gave Brad and I a great old shack....
As it turns out it was one of the original homesteads off the farm next door. It was moved to town in the 60's.... We were so thrilled to be given this house and couldn't wait to get it out to 'Darling Downs'... So while Connie, Millie and I watched Brad started to prep the house...
Following strict instructions from the house removal company he got to work cutting the house in half with a chainsaw...... Yes that's right, a chainsaw, I nearly fainted when they told him to do it this way but hey who am I too talk they're the professionals after all, right???? So now the house sits in 2 awaiting the big truck to haul it out to our farm... Fingers crossed the whole process goes well.... What's been going on in your world of late??
Take Care :)

  7. No cutting houses in half going on here Jodie :)
it sounds exciting home the move goes well for you. You have reminded me of the delight and amazement we'd feel as kids if we got to be travelling on the road behind one half of a house on a truck.

  15. Looks fantastic for a "shack". Will this be the visitors retreat or maybe a sewing retreat room.
I've only got 4 sleeps to go 'til I become a MRS again. All exciting. To top things off, work has given me 6 weeks notice to put a full-time girl on, so now I'm off to see solicitors. GREAT! That's all I need now....

  16. Oh wow - how exciting.

Is it going to be a guest house or maybe a little workers cottage? Or you could hire it out as a B and B - ok - shutting up now and going back into my little whole, LOL. Looking forward to the removal - we are heading up your way in a few weeks on our move to QLD - wonder if we pass it on the road?
