Debbie Bliss Give-Away......

My first FO (finished object/project) for 2011 is this cute little Spring Tee by Alana for my Mil-Mil. It was her b'day present and I made it using a gorgeous Sky Blue shade of yarn by Debbie Bliss from her Eco-baby range...
You see, I'm very excited to be stocking a large range of Alana's patterns this year in my shop, Jellywares on Marshall....
Alana is the very talented lady behind the podcasts that I told you all about back here. Yes, those very same podcasts that I became totally A D D I C T E D to that kept me glued to my computer for weeks... Well, that was until DH found my 8 year old 'MP3 player' (I can't believe that baby still worked). Now I'm mobile and my 'Knitting Pod-casts' are mobile with me....
O.K... Back to the patterns, this little Tee comes in such a large size range, 3month to girls size 14. That means that I can make one for each of my girls every year for many, many years, now that sure is great value for 1 pattern, right????
This Tee is knit from the top down which means NO SEAMING, my favourite type of knitting... It has the cutest little lace-y caped sleeves and the trickiest part of the whole garment is the neckband which is a series of picked up stitches worked in the round in garter stitch, now that's not hard now is it???
O.K... Because I love the yarn that I made this Tee out of so much I thought it would be fun to have a little give-away....
So for your chance to WIN 1 x 5og ball of Debbie Bliss Eco-baby, a gorgeous 5ply 100% cotton (valued at $9.50), in the same shade that I've used in the pictures above, just leave a comment on this post letting me know what's inspiring you at the moment.... Is it knitting podcasts like me (if so which one) or have you found a book (I'd love to hear about it) that you just can't seem to put down.....
I'll draw the Winner at the end of the month so you have 3 weeks to enter....

  5. There is always something to inspire me on blogs but it is my collection of library cookbooks right now. We are having gourmet delights every night for dinner and all with our own produce too.

Great little tee, and it is good to have a FO so early in the year too.

  6. I am so happy that your going to be selling Alana's patterns in your online store! She is very inspirational isnt she. I love listening to podcasts at the moment, Knitmore Girls is great, The Knitwits is a good one too and I have just discovered Yarns on the Plain too. Oh and dont forget Cast On, she is fantastic as well. I have to say I love Alana's patterns but havent knit any of them up as yet. The tee sounds just perfect for me to knit for Isabelle and my god-daughter!

  7. Lovely little tee. While I don't have any littlies on my horizon, nothing better than being prepared and practising for various charities.
My inspiration is definitely via blogs and Ravelry - the queue is so very long, but I'm working through it.
Have not as yet listened to a podcast - not a good listener, as my mind tends to wander. Much better at visuals.

  8. Thank you Jodi for the info you left on my blog. It would be easier to just travel to peeps blogs and do a reply because it could be a long time (if ever) before they return again. Inspiring me??? I think every person on here is inspiring me to stop dragging my feet, get busy and "Just Do It". We all have one common thread and it ties us all together with our common interests and love for whatever passion we have....besides, blue is my very favorite color!

  10. That top is just beautiful and I will have to make one for my little Granddaughter for next summer. I too listen to Alana s podcasts and have for a year or so now and I love the never not knitting song (my husband says the same about me). I listen to them while I am knitting.

  16. lovely, lovely T shirt.... and the model is amazing....
Inspiration comes from so many sources, people. plants. sounds and even smells. colours. flavours. love and friendship, caring and sharing, sometimes just a thought, sometimes a picture, but always the allure of the magic of creating.

  17. Whats inspiring me at the moment is my new Earth Collection! Baby, Decor, Spa and Kids all done in natural fibres and organic if possible. Still in the very early stages but its keeping my mind whirling :-) Love that little T and the Debbie Bliss cotton too :-) I think I will have to try to download some of those podcasts onto my MP3 player as the car radio is mega boring at the moment :-)

  18. What's inspiring me at the moment... all of the people who are having giveaways! I see such cute things out there and I have to 'bookmark' them so I can come back to them later. I also love knitting from the top down seamlessly - this tee looks really cute! Would it require an undershirt for older girls?

  20. What an adorable sweater, and the wearer is oh so cute, too! My favorite new knitting book is Tea Cozies 2. Each cozy pattern makes me smile and I'm anxious to cast on; and it's going to be for me!

  21. Weirdly, I think I'm inspired by yarn at the moment! Right now, it seems that the yarn comes first and then I trawl through ravelry (for ages!) to find a pattern that will work with it...
