Jelly Xmas Star Tutorial

SORRY BUT GOOGLE HAS SWALLOWED UP THE PICTURES FROM THIS POST...
PLEASE GO TO THIS MORE RECENT POST FOR NEW PICTURES...

With Xmas not too far away I thought it would be fun to do a little crochet Xmas decoration tutorial....
You'll need some 8ply yarn (I used heirloom super fine Australian Merino Wool) and a 4mm hook.
(note - american crochet terms are used for this pattern)

To start, make a foundation chain of 5, join with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a ring.
Round 1 - ch3, 2dc, ch3, *3dc, ch3. Repeat from the * 3 more times (5 dc clusters and 5 ch3's total). Join with a slip stitch to the 3rd ch of the starting ch3. Round 2 - slip stitch into the next 2 dc and into the first ch3 space. ch3, 2dc, ch3, 3dc, 1hdc in 2nd dc of next dc cluster. *3dc, ch3, 3dc in next ch3 space, 1hdc in 2nd dc of next dc cluster. Repeat from * 3 more times.
Join with a slip stitch in 3rd chain of starting ch3.
Round 3 - Sip stitch into next 2 dc and into first dc ch3 space. Ch3, 3dc, ch4, 4dc, 1sc on either side of hdc from previous round.
4dc, ch4, 4dc in next ch3 space, 1sc on either side of next hdc from previous round. Repeat from * 3 more times. Join with a slip stitch in 3rd chain from starting ch3. Fasten off and weave in ends...
These stars are great sewn into a garland or hung by themselves on your tree would look divine. Why not make them in a thick cotton for a Xmas-y themed washer...

  41. For those commenters wishing they could learn to crochet, can I recommend www.thecrochetcrowd.com. He has a 24 video course that is very good sponsored by Curtzy Crochet hooks. If you don't mind the product plugs, they are great. Mikey also has many, many instructional videos on youtube that have helped me so much.

  46. Hi,
Row 2 is kinda like a run on sentence. There are commas in between each stitch so I don't know what is done in what stitch or space. What is done in the ch3 space and what is done in the 2nd of-the-next DC cluster? For some reason blogger blacks out pictures and I can't tell by the pics. It happens to mine too.

    Thanks for your help!!!
    Heather

  61. So you got a call back for an interview from your dream firm but they are asking for marijuana drug test results for pre-employment procedures? In this article, you will find out the best THC detox methods to pass a drug test for weed with flying colors. But if you’re still unsure of how to get rid of the nasty THC contaminants from last week’s sesh in your friend's basement, then take a seat, relax, and follow through the detailed guide below that will make sure what happened in the basement stays in the basement. The methods mentioned below are the very few techniques proven to work among the plethora of anecdotal tips. If some of the products mentioned below are not accessible, you can always opt for the convenient at-home solutions which can bring you equally great results. These methods are meant to help you breeze through all kinds of drug tests, from the easy-peasy saliva test to the irksome hair test. If you’re looking to flush out your insides to pass a drug test, then you might as well count on detox drinks. Detox drinks work like water in that they hydrate and drain the toxins in your body through your urine. For the best detox drink to pass a drug test for weed, we recommend the Mega Clean Detox Drink by Detoxify. The big stark red bottle might look intimidating at first, but it will soon become your pal before the dreaded drug test. This product is designed to flush out all those nasty THC contaminants from your body while replenishing it with loads of vitamins and minerals. The first is the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the second test is the gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Although it can detect drug use for around 90 days, it does not show evidence of recent use because it can take about a week for the traces of THC to become visible in your hair. With this test, you can identify cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, opioids, methamphetamines, and phencyclidine (PCP). Blood tests are an invasive method that accurately detects THC (even weeks after use) in your system, and it is analyzed in a lab. It detects cocaine, marijuana, amphetamine, opiates, methamphetamines, nicotine, and alcohol 24 hours after drinking. Even if you take a quick puff, THC can be immediately identified in your system for one to seven days.
