Something Different....

I've been working on some square washers for a change and am really loving incorporating some old 'vintage' lace stitches into them.... This one is for a special someone that we visited while away over Xmas....
I'll post a full pic and the free pattern as soon as I know she has received it. I really want it to be a surprise and I have a feeling that after my visit she might now read my blog, *wink*
The garden has been producing prolific amounts of produce lately which is a real surprise... You see, the heat has been atroshish and I would of thought for sure that the majority of my plants would curl up and die in protest to the heat.... Boy was/am I wrong!!! I get a haul like the one below every 2nd day, now is that awesome or what??? How is your veggie plot doing with all of the heat????
Yesterday saw me drop my first batch of preserves off for sale in town, 56 jars to be exact... I can't begin to explain just how excited I am about this new little venture in my life. I love to cook and now I get a chance to share a little bit of that with everyone through my range of 'seasonal' preserves. So if you're ever calling through Cobar please do pop in and say 'hi' to Jacqui from 'Country Simplicity'. She's a real sweetie and her shop is a divine mix of incredibly gorgeous things, and if you look extra close you might just see a little bit of 'Jellywares' in there too.....
Take Care..... Jodie......

  1. Now if I lived closer Jodie I would definately pop in and buy some. I have to admit that sadly we have nothing left in our vegie patch at the moment apart from some weeds which are nearly as tall as Isabelle. I must get moving and weed it this weekend and plant some new stuff. Your vegies look great and they must like the heat.

  2. That's quite a bumper crop, well done!! I'm having issues with the tomatoes not ripening, but the herbs are going crazy, lettuce, capsicum flowering & fruit on it's way . . . i water them while i hang out washing, you know, multitasking, but the children do love helping.
Cute knitting project - i love giving handmade gifts to those who can't craft, they REALLY appreciate it. Sure your friend will think it's ace. Love Posie

  3. Well done on getting your first produce on the shelves in town.

I will be sure to call in and take a look if ever I pass through. The Mr might get some before then for me as he is often on the road designing sheep and cattle yards around and about.

  4. Thats awesome news; a little too far for me to travel though!

My vegies have suffered the heat a bit; zucchini arent growing and my pumpkin is only putting up male flowers. Leek seedlings keep shriveling up too...

  8. Just found your blog and it looks wonderful. Wash cloths are on my list this year so I have to have a look around for some patterns! My garden is stressed from the up and downs of our spring and summer - slow slow slow is the growing for us....

  11. I love the sound of your preserves, if only I wasn't so far away and what a bumper crop from the garden too. All things in the garden look quiet here except for a few early bulb shoots, just to remind us spring is on the way.
